Both Shipping Post Locations Achieve Top 100 UPS ASO

The Shipping Post, with two locations in Charlotte County, Florida is proud of the fact that both of its locations achieved TOP 100 UPS ASO (Authorized Shipping Outlet) again this year for the 15th straight year.

“It’s amazing,” says Carol Drayton, owner of The Shipping Post, “when you think about the thousands of authorized shipping outlets for UPS in the country, it just makes us so proud that both of our stores, as near as they are to each other, are able to achieve this status every year. It is testimony to how hard our staff works and how wonderful our UPS drivers are.”

Carol points out that they could not have done it without the help of their regular UPS drivers Aaron Day in Port Charlotte and Tom Salisbury in Punta Gorda. “These guys are simply fantastic,” says Carol. “They are ALWAYS reliable, friendly and helpful. We just love them.”

“What I like most about this award”, says Mark, Carol’s husband and partner, “is that this means we are doing enough volume to be able to be price competitive with the brand name UPS Stores and with UPS on-line.” Mark is a little concerned though that they might not make the list next year. “That is because FedEx really dropped their pricing for residential ground this past year and we are doing significantly more shipping with them.”

Mark points out that this is all good for the consumer. “We can offer them whichever carrier works best for them whether its UPS, FedEx, DHL or USPS. Now that FedEx has changed their pricing, the consumer has more options. We can show them which carrier costs less and which carrier is faster. I’m really happy to be in the UPS TOP 100 but I’m even happier about the competitiveness between UPS and FedEx. It’s a win for our clients.”

Besides being an authorized outlet for all of the major carriers, The Shipping Post, since 1988, also provides many business services including copying, fax sending and receiving, document scanning and emailing, shredding, in house and mobile notaries. They offer shipping supplies and professional packing services. The stores have hundreds of beautiful gifts (plus a few ugly ones) and have an award-winning selection of greeting cards.
